Both The Charity Randall Theatre, a 454 seat, beautifully renovated, traditional proscenium theatre, and The Henry Heymann Theatre, an intimate, 153-seat thrust stage, are located in the Stephen Foster Memorial, a historical landmark in the heart of Oakland's cultural corridor. The Stephen Foster Memorial is located at 4301 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260 between Bigelow and Bellefield, near the Carnegie Museum and the Cathedral of Learning. Convenient, paid parking is available in three surrounding lots, Soldiers and Sailors Parking Garage, The Carnegie Museum Parking Lot, and at the corner of Dithridge and Henry Streets.
Accessibility
The Stephen Foster Building, which houses the two theatres, is an historic landmark and has been retro fitted for wheel chair accessibility. The sidewalk/wheelchair entrance is located on Bigelow Boulevard near the intersection of Forbes Avenue. There is a walking path from Bigelow Boulevard to the side entrance of the building. A phone kiosk is located just outside the side entrance of the building. Please use the call box or dial from your cell phone, 412-624-0197 for assistance.
Please plan to arrive at the theatre approximately 20 minutes or more before the curtain time to allow the Stephen Foster Memorial House Management Staff proper time to assist you in an orderly fashion.
When purchasing tickets online or through ProArts Tickets (412-394-3353) please be sure to mention any accessibility issues at the time of your ticket purchase so that the staff can be prepared to assist when you are scheduled to attend.
There is a wheelchair lift (maximum weight 470 lbs) for access to the lower level Henry Heymann Theatre and is located in the left stair case upon entering the main lobby of the Stephen Foster Memorial from Forbes Avenue.
Restrooms
A wheelchair accessible private restroom is located on the lower level of the Stephen Foster Memorial building.
