Most people, even his most ardent fans, tend to forget that Oscar Wilde didn’t just write plays. He was a journalist, an essayist, and a remarkable storyteller. His Fairy Tales are still popular with children today, but Oscar was also the writer of some remarkable novellas. And like other Irish writers of the late Victorian period, he had an attachment to the supernatural. As we approach Halloween weekend, we will take a look at three of these very spooky stories and particularly the remarkable tale of The Canterville Ghost.
