COVID-19 Safety Policies
As we navigate a world with COVID-19, PICT Classic Theatre’s first priority is safety.
We will be requiring proof of vaccination for all guests over the age of 12 to participate in all performances & events during the 2021-2022 season. All PICT personnel have been following this protocol internally since June 2021, and the policy will now extend to our patrons and volunteers as we return to live, in-person theatre.
“Fully Vaccinated” means that each guest has received both doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or the full dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least 14 days prior to the event or performance. A physical or digital copy of your vaccination card will be requested onsite prior to your entry into the venue.
Those who are exempt due to a medical condition or deeply held religious belief may provide proof of a negative COVID PCR test taken within 72 hours before the event or performance.
Further measures will also be in place on site including:
– Masking for all indoor events
– A spacious new seating plan
– Upgraded HVAC filters
– Strict cleaning protocols throughout WQED.
PICT has been a community leader in COVID safety protocols, having the distinction of being the very first theatre company approved by Actors’ Equity Association to return to in-person production in October 2020.
Two of our five staff members have been certified nationally as COVID Compliance Officers, and our policies have been designed in collaboration with UPMC, Allegheny Department of Health, PA Department of Health, and the CDC.
These policies are evolving, and will be updated in accordance with local, state, and national protocols as more information becomes available. Please check back on this page for the most up-to-date information.
