The Trial of Oscar Wilde
A recreation of the final cross-examination of Wilde by Sir William Carson at the famous trial of the Marquis of Queensbury, a dramatic exchange that cost Oscar his freedom and reputation. This text has been meticulously reconstructed by Oscar’s grandson, Merlin Holland, and is presented with his kind permission and blessing. A panel discussion will follow led by Robin Nicholson, Executive Director of The Frick, Pittsburgh.
