Pygmalion is arguably George Bernard Shaw’s most popular and enduring play, thanks in part to the Broadway musical and movie My Fair Lady. But beyond that it is a play for all time, since its main topic is the very human desire to be “better than what we are” and the equal desire to make people in our own image. The source material for the play came from antiquity: the story of Pygmalion and Galatea is, like all classic tales, a lesson in human vulnerability.
This week we’ll discuss George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and its enduring themes in a lively, one-hour webinar.
